01The basics

The basics.

Where is The Hartline House?
We sit on twelve acres twelve minutes east of Main Street in Fredericksburg, Texas, on the original 1873 Hartline homestead. The address is 1820 Hartline Bend Road.
What is included in a stay?
Every night includes breakfast, a cruiser bicycle for each guest, the saltwater pool, the fire pit, and gigabit WiFi throughout. Three rooms also welcome dogs.
How many rooms are there?
Seven suites, no two alike, in a restored 1908 limestone farmhouse. The whole house sleeps fourteen if you take it all.
Is The Hartline House connected to Calicheridge Vineyards?
Yes. Calicheridge is our sister property, run by Sara Hartline's brother Cal, a short drive up the road. We arrange tastings for guests.
How do I get the best rate?
Book direct. Direct guests always get our best rate and a porch cocktail on arrival. Check availability on the booking page or call the house.
02Rooms

Rooms.

How many suites are there, and how do they differ?
There are seven, each named and individually furnished. They range from cozy queen rooms to the larger king suites and the standalone Cottage, so sleeping counts, baths, and views vary by room.
Which rooms are pet-friendly?
Three suites welcome dogs: Caliche, Library, and the Cottage. The pet fee is $45 per stay. The other four rooms are kept pet-free.
How many people can a suite sleep?
Each room lists its sleeps count, beds, and size on its page. Most suites sleep two; a few accommodate more. Booked together, the seven suites sleep up to fourteen.
Is breakfast included with every room?
Yes. Breakfast is included with every suite and served in the dining room each morning, alongside a bicycle for every guest and access to the pool and grounds.
How do I reserve a specific room?
Open the room you want and select Reserve, or check availability for your dates on the booking page. Reach out to the house directly if you have a question first.

Is there a minimum stay?
Weekends carry a two-night minimum from May through October and on holiday weekends. Midweek nights can often be booked singly, subject to the calendar.

What is your cancellation window?
Full refund for cancellations up to fourteen days before arrival. Inside fourteen days the first night is non-refundable, and we always try to rebook and refund what we can.
Can children stay at the house?
The house is reserved for guests eighteen and over. It is a quiet property built for rest, and we keep it that way on purpose.
Are pets allowed?
The suites are pet-free for the comfort of every guest and the longevity of a 1908 building. Service animals are always welcome, and we are glad to recommend boarding nearby.
What time is breakfast served?
Breakfast is included every morning and served in the dining room from 8 to 10. A bicycle waits for every guest, with helmets and a route map in the mudroom.
05Experiences

Experiences.

Do I need to book experiences in advance?
On-property activities are easy to add once you arrive, but tastings, treatments, and anything off the property book up. Tell us your dates and we will arrange them ahead of your stay.
What can I do without leaving the property?
Plenty. Take a bicycle out, swim in the saltwater pool, gather at the fire pit, or book an in-room massage. The on-property list covers the days you would rather not drive.
Can you arrange something that is not listed?
Often, yes. A dawn balloon ride, a private chef in the Cottage, a picnic in the lavender field. Send us a note and we will see what we can put together.
Are tastings at Calicheridge Vineyards included?
Tastings are arranged separately, but as the sister property Calicheridge is a short drive up the road and we set up visits for our guests.
06Local guide

Local guide.

How far is The Hartline House from town?
About twelve minutes east of Main Street in Fredericksburg. Close enough for dinner in town, far enough that the nights stay quiet.
Do I need a car to use the guide?
For wineries and restaurants in town, a car helps. For the trails, the lavender, and the back roads near the house, the bicycle we provide each guest is often all you need.
Are these your own recommendations?
Yes. This is where we would send our own friends, eating, drinking, walking, and seeing the Hill Country, not a list of whoever paid to be on it.
Can you book a table or a tasting for me?
We are glad to. Tell the host what you would like to do and we will make the reservations, including tastings up the road at Calicheridge Vineyards.
07Groups & buyouts

Groups & buyouts.

How many rooms make a group booking?
Four rooms or more. At that point we plan the stay with you directly instead of through the booking calendar, so the dates and details fit the occasion.
Can we buy out the entire house?
Yes. A full buyout is all seven suites, the dining room, and twelve private acres, sleeping up to fourteen with no other guests on site.
Is there a minimum stay for the full house?
Full-house weekends carry a two-night minimum and include the common spaces and grounds. We will confirm the exact terms with your quote.
Can you host a wedding party or rehearsal?
We do. The house sits steps from Calicheridge Vineyards and works well for the rehearsal, the getting-ready morning, and the soft landing after.
How do we start planning?
Send us the dates, headcount, and occasion. We hold the rooms, build a simple quote, and confirm with a single deposit. Plan a stay by reaching out or calling the house.
08Gift cards

Gift cards.

How long are gift cards good for?
Two years from the date of purchase. Plenty of time to find the right weekend.
What can a gift card be redeemed for?
Rooms, experiences, and dinners. Use it toward a single night, a weekend, or as a head start on a longer stay.
How is the gift card delivered?
By email within the hour, or by post on pressed linen stock. We can time delivery to a birthday, an anniversary, or the morning of.
Can I choose any amount?
Yes. Pick a preset of $150, $300, or $600, or name your own amount. Add a hand-written note and we will take care of the rest.
How do I buy one?
Request a gift card below or reach out to the house and we will set it up with you.
09Accessibility

Accessibility.

Yes. Reserved parking sits a few steps from a ramped side entrance that bypasses the front porch stairs. The path is firm, level, and lit at night.
Do you have an accessible suite?
The ground-floor Garden Suite has a roll-in shower with a fold-down bench, grab bars, a 32-inch clear doorway, and a king bed at standard transfer height.
Are the other suites reachable without stairs?
Six of the seven suites sit on the second floor, reached by a historic staircase we cannot widen or fit with a lift. The Garden Suite is the step-free option.

Always, throughout the house, regardless of our pet-free policy. Tell us what your handler routine needs and we will make sure it is ready.
How do I request an accommodation?
